Download the windows 64bit version of libaacs.dll and put it into your vlc directory (typically c:\program files\video lan\vlc\) vlc will now play blu ray discs. For vlc to work, you have to get the lua file from a version of vlc newer than 3.0.18 (but i strongly advise only using the lua file, don't install a newer version of vlc. So i seem to be having issues with playing back menus with java, even though i have the adopt openjdk jre and jdk program
I thought it was because it was an older version so i installed the latest version 16 It will also download the captions / subtitles if there are any On vlc all that i get is java required:

There was nothing vlc related in the %appdata% folder However there were videolan folders in in program files and in program files (x86), i deleted both of these Reinstalled vlc (it defaulted to the 32 bit version, don't know why). Postby briang61uk » 18 feb 2018 16:02 i'll try
But i probably put the quotes there because something else required them because of the space between program and files It's pretty poor that vlc is so fussy about the format of java_home. If you don't know where to post, please read the different forums' rules For years, i have been able to watch my personal copies of movies on br and dvd by adding the commonly available 'libaacs.dll' into vlc's program folder, and updated versions of 'keydb' into a vlc directory in common files within program files I had no trouble with this former method until a couple months ago. As i stated in my most recent post, the instructions worked for me
