There are bottles / pouches of pet food gravy / sauces you can buy but the ingredients are pretty bad My roadblock is that buster recently went blind, so he can't see his food Glutens and starches and chemical flavorings
You can just take any can of cat food and run it through the blender with a little water to turn it into gravy / broth / soup. Hi all, does anyone have recommendations for making your own cat food gravy that has a strong odor similar to the canned foods She is pretty much only licking the gravy of her wet food and not eating much of her dry food
Our routine in the past
We would give her wet food in the morning and dry food in the evening She would usually eat all of it pretty much right away Three days ago we noticed she did not eat all. In the last couple of weeks 3 of my 4 cats who get it (claudio gets diet canned with a tiny bit of the what the others have on top) have started only eating the gravy from totw canned food.
I've found that when a cat is licking the food (the gravy or any liquid part of it), but leaving the bulk of the food, they are either nauseated (finding the cause of that can be frustrating) or they simply don't like the food anymore It could also be that that food itself, something in the food, is causing her nausea or stomach upset. I've tried blue buffalo, merrick, newman's own, b.f.f. She's currently eating 'royal canin sterilised in gravy' but i read that royal canin is not good for cats, bad quality
Is there any dry food with health benefits that could supplement this in small quantities
It might also help to warm the food as older cats sometimes loose their sense of smell a bit so the food isn't appetizing Have you tried liquidising / mashing up the lumps and adding a little more water to turn the cat food into a gravy soup ? As far as i know, there's no way to really make a cat food gravy Someone else might know how
Though there is now meow mix layers which when warm water is added, and it's allowed to sit breaks down a bit to make gravy. If you have tried lots of different types of meat and they are still more keen on their biscuits then it may just be that they like biscuits!!
